SACRAMENTAL PREPARATION

Parishioners wishing to celebrate the sacraments of Baptism (for infants), Matrimony, or Anointing of the Sick should please contact our parish’s main office. Preparations for all other sacraments celebrated at our parish are undertaken through our Faith Formation program. Here’s a little bit about each:

Children are eligible to enter sacramental prep year after successfully completing at least one year of catechesis.

First Reconciliation This sacrament (Confession) is usually celebrated in December of a child’s 2nd level. Preparation for the Sacrament takes place during session time, along with some materials to be completed as a family. There is also a parents/guardian meeting for Reconciliation.

First Eucharist This sacrament is usually celebrated in May of a child’s 2nd level. As with First Reconciliation, all prep is during regular session time. In addition to this prep with the catechist; each child will receive a packet for home that will be handed out at a parents/guardian’s meeting in January. The children preparing for their First Holy Communion attend a 3-hour retreat. Starting in January the child and family are to attend a monthly Mass emphasizing a part of the liturgy.
