Courage to Change Al-Anon Meeting~ Al-Anon is a fellowship of relatives and friends of alcoholics who share their experience, strength and hope in order to solve their common problems. The members of Al-Anon believe alcoholism is a family illness and that changed attitudes can aid recovery. The Courage to Change group meetings are held every Monday evening at 6:00 p.m. For locations, call Al-Anon Answering Service at 518.292.0577.
BLD~ BLD (Bukas Loob Sa Diyos) is Filipino and can be translated as “Open in Spirit to God.” BLD was started in the Philippines in 1983 and is now worldwide. BLD is Roman Catholic in essence and charismatic in its activities. The group’s mission is to be a communion of families, called by the Lord to build communities of disciples of Jesus Christ, to renew and strengthen the Christian faithful.
Christ Our Light Catholic Parish Seniors~ Individuals, 55 and over meet every Monday from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. They play cards, knit, crochet, play bingo and occasionally, enjoy special luncheons. The group hosts several trips during the year, for e.g., a trip to an Irish restaurant for entertainment and lunch, a cruise on Lake George, a cruise on the Erie Canal, riding trolleys through Washington Park to view the tulips. Boy Scout Troop 1022~ Boy Scouts is for boys in grades sixth through twelfth. The Boy Scouts of America provides a program for young people that builds character, trains them in the responsibilities of participating citizenship, and develops personal fitness.
