Hospital/Homebound

 Visitation Ministries are when ministers visit parishioners while they are in the Hospital, Rehab Center, Assisted Living Facility or Nursing Home. We follow up after the hospital to those that go to a nursing home, assisted living or back to their own home. We offer to bring Eucharist to those who are homebound and cannot make it to church. We also visit those in the nursing homes and assisted living to keep abreast of what is happening in the parish that they may feel connected and know they are not forgotten and people are praying for them. This also includes sending cards, Get well and Birthdays cards. Ministers also deliver Christmas gifts around the holidays.

 

Hospitalized

Hospitals do not give out information about the religious background of their patients. Therefore, either the patient of someone they know must inform the parish of who is in what hospital.

 Only a priest can perform the sacrament of the anointing of the sick, which involves forgiveness of sins.

  Homebound

 If someone is homebound and cannot get to church, the parish brings church to the homebound.  As with hospitals, we must know about who is homebound. We can arrange for Communion or anointing.

 The homebound are given the opportunity to receive the Sacrament of Anointing twice a year in a Mass.
